I’m excited about today! Its the first day of the league for our ladies and for the first time we will be fielding 3 teams! The gents are playing their last pre-season friendly before their league games start next week.

The umpiring slots are covered with someone from every team doing their bit, teas are being prepared at the Cricket Club, team numbers are looking good at training and for Saturdays, we’ve seen old players coming back and new ones joining – especially juniors, we’ve a newly refurbished pitch and lights that are (mostly) working and memberships have been paid! We’re in better shape than ever before.

I’m really looking forward to my last season as Chairman and I’d like to thank all of you who have helped get us where we are today. We still have lots of opportunity to make us even better so no doubt we’ll be asking for some help as the season progresses. For now though lets just go out and enjoy our hockey!
